On Nov 16th, the lovely Ghada Almashaqbeh gave her talk on “Resource-backed Cryptocurrencies.” Students enjoyed free food and drink while learning about one of the hottest topics in tech today.

Almashaqbeh is a current Ph.D .candidate in the Cryptography Lab in the Computer Science Department. She is interested in theory and applied cryptography, security, and distributed systems, and she works on interdisciplinary projects that combine knowledge from various fields toward the design of secure systems and protocols. She is currently working on projects related to cryptocurrencies, secure multiparty computation, and basing cryptography on biological assumptions.
